In the Works

I've been crafting like crazy lately and enjoying the change of weather. We went from 90 degree weather to 50 degrees in a little over a week! It's gray and dreary and really putting me in a crafting mood! I have a craft fair coming up next month at my husband's old high school and am looking forward to it! I did this event last year and did quite well. This is what I'm working on right now:

A crocheted chicken pillow to replace the one that sold last month.
Christmas soap sacks in red and green.
Crocheted dolls with some fantastic vintage doll heads I found at a thrift store.
Plastic canvas book marks with cats on them. I'll probably make some with bears too.
Soap--I plan on making some bacon scented as well as blueberry cobbler soap.

That's about it for now, but I have a whole list of projects I want to complete before the craft fair. Plus, I've been making a lot of Christmas gifts, as well as buying some on etsy.

Lots of stuff happening lately. I have some new "home fire" soap available and have plans of making many more fall soaps...so be checking the soap shops for some new stuff!

Remember that cute chicken pillow from my previous post? It sold, but if you were eyeing it I am currently making another one and should have it listed soon.

I am planning my fall craft shows now and am very excited to be apart of some this year. I plan on having lots of soaps as well as knit/crochet items, jewelry and possibly some plastic canvas.

Other than that we had some relatives visit from Canada this week and it was nice taking a break from the shops and spending time with family.

I plan on making lots of new soap this week, I'll try to get links posted to the new shop listings!

Is this cute or what?

I just finished this chicken pillow last night and listed it in my shop. I love how it turned out! I hope to also get a cow pillow done at some point. Right now I need to get some more drum piggy banks made because I think they'll be a big hit at the pre-Christmas craft fairs. I also plan to get some more baseball cap ear warmers made...they went over HUGE during last year's holiday season so I want to be prepared. Other than that, I've just been making soap and trying to keep up with my 2 kids. If you would like to check out my chicken pillow, go here.

Slow Summer...Preparing for Fall

I've been making lots of new soap lately, and spending time crocheting as well. I'm almost finished with a crocheted chicken pillow, and plan on making some pumpkin scented soap for Fall. Sales have been dreadfully slow, but I'm taking this time to prepare for the holiday rush. I've also began putting some soap into my craft is art shop. It's not a very well-known site yet, but hopefully that will change eventually.

So, here's my craft is art shop: www.craftisart.com/jenniferwhitedesigns

Take a peek at what I have to offer so far. I'm pretty much going to just focus on bar soaps as well as samples...as I'm limited to only 50 items with the free account. If I ever start selling I might consider upgrading.

Anyway, better get going. My hubby is cooking me some mac and cheese for dinner and I have some soap making and crocheting to do later.

Some projects I'm most proud of.

These sugar scrubs are in my soap shop here.
This is my first batch of hot process soap and it turned out great! You can find it here.
This adorable drum is an example of upcycling at its finest! Using an old nut can, this drum is great for kids of all ages! You can find it here.
And finally this cute elephant pillow is absolutely adorable! You can find him here.

Wow...it's been a long time

So, lots has been happening. I dumped all venues except etsy, as I didn't have any success with artfire, zibbet or craftisart. Not that they're bad...I just didn't have a lot of business through there. So now, I'm etsy only and have 2 shops there. I still have my knit/crochet shop, and have also added a soap shop as well. Check it out at www.jwdsoaps.etsy.com. I have a lot of fun making new soaps and b&b products. I'm hoping to keep this blog updated from now on, as I see that there are people out there who actually read it.

Anyway, there's only a couple days left, but I do have a Christmas in July sale going on at www.jenniferwhitedesigns.etsy.com. Just use coupon code "xmasjuly" to get 30 percent off!
